Financial Assistance
APPLICATION OVERVIEW
VA United offers individual need-based financial assistance to help offset travel and academy program registration fees. Applications must be submitted online through PlayMetrics. Early submission ensures award determination is ready for tryout offers.
All family information is kept strictly confidential throughout the process.

Who Can Apply?
- Anyone may apply. We use USDA Income Guidelines to assess Free/Reduced Lunch qualification.

Deadline to Register
- Applications should be completed online prior to tryouts or within 72 hours of receiving an offer. The seasonal deadline is typically the final Friday of May.

What Documents Will I Need to Apply?List Item 1
- Most recent 1040 tax form (previous year acceptable if current is not yet available).
- W2 or 1099 forms.

What is Covered by Assistance?
These costs pay for league registration, player registration, referrees, insurance, fields, etc.
- A percentage of CLUB REGISTRATION fees only.

What is NOT Covered?
These are variable costs determined by age, level and seasonal cycle. These are expenses incurred directly by the player and the team.
- Uniforms and gear
- Tournament/Team Fees (collected separately by the team treasurer)
- Hotel, Travel Expenses, and Food.

Making Payment
- In order to secure a roster spot, the acceptance fee must be paid.
- Remaining fees can have financial assistance applied and can be paid via payment plan.
- Payment credit can be earned via Bingo (ages 14+).
- Players can also certify to referee (ages 13+) or may be offered in-house referreeing with our Academy and Winter Indoor League. Email office@vaunited.org for more information on reffing opportunities.
