What is USL?

Welcome to our USL Academy programs, where we create optimal player development environments to give local youth prospects the best chance of reaching the professional level. Our league-approved USL Academy programs meet rigorous standards designed to nurture talent and build clear pathways to professional soccer.

Our Mission

Our USL Academy programs are guided by four key principles:

• Build Pathways: Establishing comprehensive youth-to-pro player development pathways, connecting elite youth organizations with USL Senior Teams.
• Produce Players: Increasing both the number and quality of locally produced talents for USL Senior Teams, while developing world-class players able to compete at the highest levels.
• Drive Return on Investment: Providing an efficient player development model that creates value for all stakeholders.
• Improve Quality: Enhancing the standard of long-term player development programs across the United States.

USL Futures Academy - Boys & Girls (2015-2016 Birth Years) U11/U12

USL Futures Program is designed to introduce and develop foundational technical skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game within a structured and engaging environment.

This program features:

• Registration link: USL Futures Academy
• 9v9 format designed for skill development
• Cost: $225 per player (includes USL training jersey); Training & Game - $300 per player (includes USL training & VA United game shirt); Game only - $120 per player (includes VA United game shirt)
• Training in Roanoke - players from outside areas welcome!
• Game opportunities - Friday night in house game format
• All training sessions run from 5:45-7:00 PM
• 2017 birth years can participate with director permission - please email kris@vaunited.org to request an evaluation

Schedule:

 Training (Location TBD): June 16, 18, 23, 25 and July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23

 Games (Location TBD): June 12, 19, 26 and July 10, 17

USL Development Academy - Boys & Girls (2010-2014 Birth Years) U13-16

USL Development Academy is intended to provide a structured, competitive developmental environment focused on advancing technical, tactical, physical, and psychological components of player development.

This program features:

• Registration link: USL Development Academy
• 11v11 format designed for skill development
• Schedule:  5 week program (6/16 - 7/24) two nights a week training model
• Cost: $225 per player (includes USL training jersey); Training & Game - $300 per player (includes USL training & VA United game shirt); Game only - $120 per player (includes VA United game shirt)
• Training in Roanoke - players from outside areas welcome!
• Game opportunities - Friday night in house game format (U15/16 ages pending numbers)

USL Boys Pre-Academy (2010-2011 Birth Years) U15-16

The USL Pre-Academy is a tryout opportunity available to U15 & 16 Boys (U14 by invite only) to provide an elite pathway for youth soccer development, connecting talented prospects with professional opportunities in a direct pathway to USL Academy opportunities provided by VA United.

Players interested in consideration for USL Pre-Academy must register for the USL Development Academy and select YES for interest in tryout in the registration questions to be contacted with tryout details.
