We're thrilled to announce our exciting lineup of Winter Programs for the 2026 season!  This year Virginia United will run programming in the Roanoke area and New River United will be hosting programming in the New River Valley.

Winter Programs

Players can participate in multiple programs, limited only by age and schedule constraints.

Registration Details

• Opens Thursday, October 9th
• Cost: $125 per player, per program
• Registration Deadline: Tuesday, November 25th
• Late Registration Deadline: Tuesday, December 2nd - $10 late fee applies

Note: Early registration is strongly encouraged due to capacity limits. Late registrations will be waitlisted.

1. Roanoke Winter Indoor Technical Training

Locations

• Lab Sports: 1824 9th Street SE, Roanoke, VA

Bring water ball, shin guards, and size appropriate ball.  Must wear TENNIS SHOES!  No cleats allowed at Lab Sports

Schedule

Training runs Monday through Thursday nights from the week of January 5th through the week of February 9th. (6 sessions with an extra week allowed for any weather cancellations)

Groups will be adjusted based on ability for maximum player experience.   

Monday

• 7:00–8:00 PM – U11/U12 Girls
• 8:00–9:00 PM – High School Girls

Tuesday

• 7:00–8:00 PM – U13/U14 Girls
• 8:00–9:00 PM – High School Boys

Wednesday

• 7:00–8:00 PM – U11/U12 Boys
• 8:00–9:00 PM – U11/U12 Boys

Thursday

• 7:00–8:00 PM – U13/U14 Boys
• 8:00–9:00 PM – U13/U14 Boys

Key Details

• Cost: $125 for 6 one-hour sessions

• Equipment: Bring a ball, water bottle, and tennis shoes  NO CLEATS AT LAB SPORTS!

2. Winter Indoor League Games (Roanoke)

Now accepting registrations for the 2026 Winter Indoor Season. All players will receive a t-shirt for games. Space is limited, so sign up early!

Who:  U11 - U19 Division

*If you are U8-U10, please visit the Jr. Academy to Sign Up for Indoor.  If you're a U10 player that CURRENTLY plays on a Virginia United Travel team, you are permitted to register in the U11 division.  All other U10 players must sign up for games only under the Jr. Academy.*

What:

• Virginia United offers an Indoor Soccer League for game play this winter to players of all

age and skill levels.

• Available to all youth soccer players in Roanoke and New River Valley, not limited to Virginia United players.

• Encouraging other area clubs to join for lively competition.

• Games consist of 2 - 25 minute halves and a 5-minute halftime.

• Game Format: 6 v 6 (5 field players and a keeper)

Where:

• Star City Soccer Center, 3624 Aerial Way Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018 (turf surface,

cleats encouraged)

• LabSports Performance, 1824 9th St SE, Roanoke, VA 24013 (no cleats on this surface)

When:

• Friday nights: High School Boys - Star City

• Saturdays: U11-U19 Boys and Girls Divisions - Star City Soccer Center and Lab Sports

• Times TBD

• Season Length: 6-game season beginning the weekend of January 2nd (If there are weather related cancellations - sessions will be made up the weekend of February 13th)

o Registrations received after the deadline will be placed on a waitlist and only

assigned a team if space allows.

o Late registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Additional Information:

• Minimum roster size: 8 players; teams must have 8 by the registration deadline.

• Don't have a team? Organizers will do their best to find all players a team. If unsuccessful, a full refund will be given.

• Please place all team requests in the appropriate box when registering.  All efforts will be made to put you in your preferred team.  Virginia United reserves the right to make team changes based on skill level or other factors beyond our control.  You will be notified prior to any changes being made outside of your requested team option.

3. Goalkeeper Trainings (Roanoke)

• Schedule: 6 weekly sessions, January 5th to February 20th
• Location: Kroger Soccer Park
• Time/Date:  January 13, 20, 27 and February 3,10,17. Times TBD - Broken into two sessions based on age.
• Please sign up under "technical training" and select the GoalKeeper option.
